Earthenware

Earthenware, a clay used by most Israeli potters in the 1950s, is limited to firing at a low temperature of 1100 degrees. The material is characterized by its monochromatic aspect that ranges between red, yellow and ochre, with the addition of layers of black, white and gray used by Jean in her work to create simple models with border stripes or filled circles.
