Porcelain

In the 80’s and 90’s Jean preferred to work with porcelain. It is delicate and easy to moled, but after firing, it is strongest. Jean created fine bowls, with shell-like fringes, bottles, in white or sometimes glazed with strong tones, and fat pigeons fired in a saggar, which gives the glaze a deep muted hue. (A saggar is a type of kiln furniture.  It is a ceramic boxlike container used in the firing of pottery to enclose or protect ware being fired inside a kiln).
